I just came back from a trip to Bali, Indonesia with my family. We went to Ubud area of Bali. Bali was a beautiful island. We stayed two nights at Suci Sari Villas, and then two nights at Visesa Resort. We had private pool villas at both places and both were amazing, though Visesa was more fancy. We had amazing experiences and saw lots of cool things and ate great food.
Ubud Day 1
After a great Breakfast at Suci Sari, we went to Tegallalang. It’s a rice field but the view is great, and it has cafes with terraces from which you can enjoy the scenery. We had lunch there. Then we went to Goa Gajah temple to see some more great scenery. And then, we went to the Agung Rai Museum of Arts. It had an amazing garden and some seriously cool arts. There was also a nice cafe there. Afterwards We shopped at Ubud market for matching elephant print pants for my mom, sister and I. We had dinner at Pulau Kelapa Warung. My family had fish, beef, chicken, and I had vegan platter. The food was amazing.
Ubud Day 2
First thing in the morning, we headed to Campuhan trekking trails. We didn’t get to spend much time there, but it was a great morning walk. Then after breakfast, we dropped by Ubud Me Sari Agrotourism. We saw how coffee was made, and got to taste some Indonesian coffee & tea. And we still had some time before we could check in at the Visesa resort, so we had lunch at Lumbung Restaurant inside the resort. The food there was pretty good, though it was a bit more pricey compared to other things we ate as it is a restaurant in a nice hotel. Dinner at Leseung Restaurant, also in the hotel, was not as good unfortunately. They seemed understaffed so the service wasn’t good and the food was mediocre.
Ubud Day 3
We went on early morning trekking again, and visited a village where people live a bit more traditionally than those who live in the Ubud center. The scenery was great and the village people were very kind to us. My mom, my sister and I also took Balinese dance classes in the afternoon.
Ubud Day 4
On the last day we just decided to take it easy and enjoy the resort. My sister and I had a massage at the spa. For dinner, we went to a fine dining restaurant called Mozaic. It was one of my best dining experiences ever. The chef showed us how to make the dishes at a more private room. The vegeterian course was great, as was the non-vegeterian course my family had.
